9 Awesome Yoga Poses For Children

Try out these yoga poses for children, let go of any seriousness and have fun! These poses can be done by the whole family.

1. Begin sitting with the soles of your feet together.
2. Breathe in and reach your arms up and show your peace fingers.
3. Breathe out, bring your peace fingers to wrap around your big toes, fingers around the toe, thumbs on top.
4. Breathe in, sit tall.
5. Breathe out, gently bend forward, reaching your forehead toward the floor.
6. Breathe.
7. Breathe in, keep your chin tucked to your chest as you come up.

1. Begin standing.
2. Breathe in, step your feet hips distance apart or allow your big toes to touch.
3. Breathe out, extend your arms down, palms facing forwards.
4. Breathe.

1. Begin lying on your stomach.
2. Breathe in, bring your legs together.
3. Breathe out, bend your elbows and place your hands at the sides of your chest with your fingers spread wide and pointing forward.
4. Breathe in, press into your hands to lift your chest off the ground.
5. Breathe.
6. When you are ready, Breathe out as you gently release to come down.

1. Start in Mountain Pose.
2. Breathe in, reach your arms up to the sky.
3. Breathe out, bend your knees and reach your hands toward the floor.
4. Breathe in, catch opposite elbows.
5. Breathe out and allow your back to be long and your head to be relaxed.
6. Breathe.
7. When you are ready, bring your hands to your hips. Breathe in, tuck your chin to your chest to roll up to Mountain Pose.

1. Start in on your hands and knees.
2. Breathe in, bring your knees mat distance apart, your big toes touching.
3. Breathe out, lower your bottom back to your heels as you stretch your arms forward toward the front of your mat.

1. Start in Mountain Pose.
2. Breathe in and turn your body to the right so that you face the side of your mat. Bring your hands to your hips.
3. Breathe out, step your right and left feet an entire leg’s distance apart.
4. Breathe in, extend your arms out to the side.
5. Breathe.
6. When you are ready, turn to the front of your mat and step back into Mountain Pose.

Try Cat & Cow together.

1. Start in Rock Pose.
2. Breathe in, come up onto your hands and knees.
3. Breathe out, tuck your toes under and spread your fingers wide.
4. Breathe in as you arch your back and look up towards the sky.
5. Breathe out to Cat Pose as you round your spine and bring your chin to your chest.
6. Repeat.

Try Cat & Cow together.

1. Start in Rock Pose.
2. Breathe in, come up onto your hands and knees.
3. Breathe out, tuck your toes under and spread your fingers wide.
4. Breathe in as you arch your back and look up towards the sky.
5. Breathe out to Cat Pose as you round your spine and bring your chin to your chest.
6. Repeat.

1. Begin by lying down on your back.
2. Allow your hands to stay next to your hips.
3. Your palms face up towards the ceiling.
4. Release any tension you may be holding as you allow your body to relax.
5. Breathe.
